To have a very good foundation for playing successfully we should have three important factors to this.

1: Hearing

Ear training is the very basic training that every guitar player should have. But a lot of people try to avoid this as it is quite boring and very time-consuming to most people. Without listening to the music we fall short to be able to move to higher learning level.
To move on from this problem, I would probable suggest that guitar learners may want choose a well known Ear Training software from the internet. It is known that there be very little and really good software that will help to improve yore listening experience step by step and really FUN for you. You will feel like playing when you learn.

2: Everyday practice: (For the fingers and ears)

Practicing everyday is another very important thing you should not forget.
I would probably suggest that all beginners practice PENTATONIC SCALES at the very beginning because this scale is the easiest scales that only have 5 tones. Try to practice at least 15 to 30 minutes everyday.
